Coaches for Cancer,

What is Suits And Sneakers Awareness Weekend? The Coaches vs. Cancer Suits And Sneakers Awareness Weekend is a nationwide event when coaches across the country unite to help finish the fight against cancer. Coaches and their staff are encouraged to wear sneakers with their game attire while coaching games during the weekend to:
  • Raise awareness about the fight against cancer.
  • Share the importance of nutrition and physical activity in reducing one’s risk of the disease.
  • Promote the American Cancer Society’s free services for those facing cancer and their loved ones available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for information, help, and support.
What is the Suits And Sneakers Corporate Challenge?Suits And Sneakers Awareness Weekend provides coaches and their staff across the country with an opportunity to help the American Cancer Society raise awareness of the many ways people can reduce their risk of cancer, like eating right, exercising, making healthy lifestyle choices, and following the Society's recommended cancer screening guidelines — all by wearing sneakers with their suits while coaching on January 24 - 26, 2014. But, the Suits And Sneakers Awareness Weekend isn't just for coaches. Corporations nationwide are getting into the game, too!

To participate, corporations host a Wear Your Sneakers to Work Day and individuals make a minimum donation of $5 to the American Cancer Society for the opportunity to wear sneakers the Monday following Suits And Sneakers Awareness Weekend, Monday, January 27, 2014.

If your corporation is unable to participate on January 27th, the Society encourages you to schedule your Wear Your Sneakers to Work Day for the first day of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) March Madness Basketball Tournament, March 18, 2014, or any day leading up to the NCAA Men’s Final Four that works best for you and your company.
